A joint graduation of officer candidates was conducted at the Tejeros Hall of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Commissioned Officers Clubhouse in Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo on August 25, 2012. Itís the first time for the Philippine Navy to participate in the AFP Pre-entry joint graduation ceremony since time in memorial. After 22 months of rigorous and extensive training at the Naval Education and Training Command in Zambales, 44 bold and dashing men and women who composed of Naval Officer Candidate Course (NOCC) Class 20 have officially joined the ranks as commissioned officers of the Philippine Navy.

Living up to the standard of excellence and professionalism, a female graduate of Bachelor of Science in Education and Law from Biliran topped the NOCC Class 20. As young as 29 years old, Ensign Cherry Ann S Qeuipo PN yearning to serve the Navyís Legal Office in order to enhance her background in law. However, as a dynamic military officer, she is more than willing to be assigned aboard ship and becomes a part in maritime patrol operations.

As a recipient of the Philippine Navy Sabre, she has given recognition by the Flag Officer in Command, VICE ADMIRAL ALEXANDER P PAMA AFP, for graduating number one in her class. Her outstanding performance in both academics and military discipline has served as an inspiration to the other Office Candidate to strive for excellence.
