Navy Ship BRP Rizal (PS 74) rescued 34 fishermen aboard F/B Jonathan in Paly Island, Taytay, Palawan yesterday 19 January 2011. The fishermen were given first aid aboard PS 74 and brought to Puerto Princesa City, Palawan and turned over to DSWD.

The Navy launched its Search and Rescue mission for the reported 13 fishing bancas that went missing on Sunday. Prior the rescue of 34 fishermen, the Navy rescued 7 others on board F/B Marlette Joy. Search and rescue mission is ongoing for the three other missing fishermen.
